Verified facts

Reckitt reported 3.3% like-for-like net revenue growth for Core Reckitt in its 27 October update. Total group IFRS net revenue fell 6.9%, mainly reflecting the disposal of Essential Home and its presence in the prior-year comparison.

Management reset Core Reckitt's annual like-for-like revenue-growth expectation to 3.5%–4.5%. It cited Lysol manufacturing disruption and a slowdown in China's vitamins, minerals and supplements category among the factors.

Apolifina analysis

The core-business and reported group measures cover different scopes. A disposal can reduce reported sales even when comparable operations grow. Investors should also separate an explanation of operational disruption from evidence that the problem has already been resolved.

Uncertainty and risk

The outlook is a forecast. Category demand, production and input costs can change the outcome. Like-for-like growth is a company-defined alternative measure, not an unqualified statutory growth rate. No personal recommendation.
